The Young Artist gallery brings together a selection of works from the late 1970s and 1980s — a formative and unsettled period in René Agostinho’s artistic path.
These drawings capture a moment of emergence: the space between what was being left behind and what had not yet taken form.

Created with urgency and restraint, they embody a need to act before understanding — to draw as a way of staying present when direction was still uncertain.
Each mark carries the restlessness of youth and the quiet intensity of someone searching for meaning through matter. Far from simple exercises, these works are documents of becoming — traces of a sensibility learning to exist through the gesture itself.
All pieces belong to the artist’s private collection.
